My kids have always loved Hallow’en, they loved getting dressed up, and of course, what kid does not like to Trick or Treat. When I was a kid I loved Trick or Treating, it was fun, because we lived in Illinois and you never knew what the weather would be, one year I started out as a ballerina and it decided to snow part way through our trip, and so, by the time we got home I was soaked and frozen as were my brothers, but we all got a pillowcase full of candy so we did not care about being cold and wet. Back then no one went through your candy, no one would have thought to put anything bad in our bags as the neighbors loved the holiday as much as we did. My mother after we had eaten all we wanted and gone to bed filled one large bowl with all the largess we had accumulated and from then on we had to share. With a large family no one really thought about any or all of the candy belonging to any one of us, and unknown to us until much later, the candy bowl was emptier each day as she hid more and more of it and later gave it out as special treats. She was very clever and we were very trusting.
The little bugger still continues to evade all attempts to capture him, we have used all of the tips that anyone has given us including those from the vet and the local ag council. The very sad thing is that the things he seems to like the best are the flowers and bushes that my daughter, Barbara, has lovingly planted, cared for, watered and propagated to make our yard more beautiful.
